    Benefits of Membership
And the Role of Abbeyfield Canada

By affiliating with Abbeyfield Canada and through it with Abbeyfield International, small autonomous societies become part of a large world-wide organisation operating in ten countries with over 15,000 volunteers and 9,000 residents.  The benefits of affiliation include:

    • Access to all the resources of Abbeyfield Canada, Abbeyfield International and its member countries, including the founding Society in Britain.

    • Temporary use of the National Society’s Revenue Canada number pending receipt of their own number.  (Donations to Abbeyfield Canada on behalf of the new Society are immediately returned with a Tax Receipt).

    • Share in the large and growing fund of resource material and expertise.

    • Share in the experiences of other Canadian Abbeyfield Societies.

    • Fund raising ideas and possible sources of capital and grant funds, as well as publicity and promotional ideas.

    • Interchange of ideas – conferences and workshops, provincial, national and international.

    • Suggested forms for residents applications, medical forms and contracts, housekeeper contracts and job descriptions.

    • Draft budgets and other financial information.

    • Draft applications for incorporation and draft by-laws.

    • Receive the Abbeyfield Quarterly Newsletter and Circulars on specific topics.
