Allan Snowie goes back to basics: from Airbus A340 to his own WWI Nieuport Fighter plane
One year ago, Captain Allan Snowie, stepped down as our National President, in order to take up his duties flying corporate jets for a company in his home town of Bellingham, Washington, USA. He had just retired from Air Canada.
When a sailor retires, he is said to have swallowed the anchor. But in the case of Allan, he is moving backwards in time while moving forward in his life. He is finalizing a book (his third published book) about Navy Pilots in World War One. Perhaps to align himself more closely with this brave group of flyers, he has bought a WWI Nieuport (see picture). It is in Oregon and he will be flying it to Bellingham when the weather improves.
He hasn't quite left Air Canada because he seems to spend half his life as a passenger. He has just returned from a meeting in England of Abbeyfield International where he has been appointed chairman.
We wish him our heartiest congratulations.
