Funding for Caledon
Abbeyfield Caledon has had a tremendous few weeks. First, the Regional Council approved what amounts to a line of credit up to $2.1 million dollars so we can get construction of our Caledon East Abbeyfield house underway. We have been working with the Region to accomplish this goal for five years, so it was a huge milestone for the Caledon group. On the heels of that piece of news, the Abbeyfield Caledon board of directors learned that its project had been chosen to receive a $1.8 million grant under a federal / provincial infrastructure program. While details still have to be worked out, corks were popping in Caledon recently. We are grateful for forward thinking politicians at all levels of government who encouraged us every step of the way and we are looking forward to watching our building come to life over the next year."
