Royal Wedding
We were all delighted to hear that the wedding would be taking place between our Royal Patron, HRH Prince Charles, and Camilla Parker-Bowles. To convey our congratulations it was decided that Abbeyfield would be represented by Ron Kenyon, Chairman of Abbeyfield UK. He was seen on TV standing outside the chapel with representatives of other charities with which the Prince is involved.
A piece of the wedding cake was sent to the offices of Abbeyfield in St Albans, Herts. Richard Seaman of Abbeyfield International was told: “Please help yourself to a piece that can be found in the kitchen on the first floor. Just a little bit each!” He emailed us to say that he was not in the office that day, otherwise he would have had a bite and let us have a report on the quality of HRH’s kind gesture!
